Oh my god ... I have made a BIG CPU/Heatsink mistake!

When I got it I installed the CPU heatsink by pulling down BOTH latches .... and the arm stays up .... now I am looking for a better heatsink/fan/compond

Thing is it wont come off .... any help? (I am such a newb)

I think I should of pulled down the latch oppersite the arm, then pulled that down!

Do I really need remover to get rid of the old stuff? ... would a paper towl or toilet roil work? then I can re-apply the compound!

Third one down. It will give you excellent performance.

And yes, get the Arctic Silver 5. Make sure you properly clean the old thermal pad off with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol.

It just looked like a heatsink to me?

Also on my case the mobo is also badly mounted .... not really my fault that though!

The mobo is held with one stand off or two ... and took 2/3 hours mounting it mostly 'cause the GFX card wouldn't go in as well.

So if I save up some money ....

- I'll get that Thermalright XP-90
- Arctic 5 compound + remover
- RAM sinks (x4)

Anything else what will improve cooling? .... without making louder?

I leave my computer on overnight .... well not at the moment with my wrongly mouted CPU.

Feel like smashing my mobo up! .... wont though!

Any 92mm fan will work with it. The noise level will depend on what fan you get really. Also don't bother with RAM sinks, they are completely unnecessary.
