non bloated operating system

anyway, i found a 3.2 gig harddrive and a 2.1 gig from more scavenging my old computers for parts, my fiancee knew what i was doing and that my comp was out of luck, so she bought me windows 2000 even though it was waaaaay more than what i wanted to spend.

discontinued? she has a official looking disc and package, i will have to ask her where she got it.

I caught you in a lie. Windows 2000 is discontinued meaning you can no longer buy it in a local retail store.... Were there leftovers....

i'm sure you can get a copy from amazon and ebay, i've seen them. and what leftovers?

Well it's discontinued so there are no new boxed products of win2K shipping to stores so all they can sell are boxes that did not sell correct (ie leftovers). I suppose ebay will still have them but what about serial keys....

mmm.. i do believe you can buy old genuine boxes, and the cd key will work.. but i have never tried it (with a OS i mean..), but games will work
