system restore

i have win xp. sometimes when i run system restore i am told pc cannot be restored to that point. even if i try another restore spot it still doesn't restore. why not?

It could be that the restore points are also corrupt. Why are you doing a restore in the first place? Is it cause of a virus or just cause you installed something that in turn corrupted your system? I am thinking it sounds like a virus or malware since you cant use any restore point. Check for viruses and spyware/malware and see if you get anything.

I would turn off system restore. Virus's hide in that feature!

so i turn it off now what. i was trying to restore because my easyshare software wasn't working.

Reinstall the easyshare software.

so do i have to uninstall it first through control panel? that won't mess with any pictures or anythingwill it? and i assume i have to dig up the original disk

Aren't your pictues stored in a folder? Nothing should happen to them.

You might have to many restore points. Delete some and try again
