is regestering windows necessary?
i just bought new comp and was wondering if i had to really regester it and if its good/bad to do so....?

ohh shit sorry guys, i guess its Activate windows... not regester.
is that the same thing or what? cuz it says if ui dont activate it after 30 days i wont be able to use windows

Activate windows is different than register. you have to activate windows in order to use it beyond the trial period. It like a norton product as it wont allow any updates or changes to it after the trial period. So i would say yes you have to activate it.

Activation of windows is more for Media Center Edition and for Longhorn old betas. Not to sure if activation is with 2003 or not. But most XP is for register not activation.
