Would the AntecSmartpower 400w or the AntecTruepower 380w be better for this system?

Seagate Barracuda 120Gb 7200rpm

Is neither an answer? The Ultra takes a LOT of power. Id recommend an OCZ Modstream 510 or an OCZ Powerstream 520

Well, the system requires 277watts according to the PSU calculator.

the TruePower 380w has 24A on the 12v rail, which seems alright.

Also is it worth getting the AMD 64 3800 or the 3500...What I mean is..is the 3800 worth the extra?

What is the cost difference. You can get a 3500 and overclock it.

As far as the PSU, Go with 400watts or more. Youll be sorry if you don't.

Sorry to 'butt in' on this topic, but i thought it would be appropriate to post here.

I am still awaiting delivery of my components, but i have bought a 370W enermex PSU..

I have the 6800GT, getting some 1gb pc3200 ram, and have the 3200+ Venice..

Will my PSU cope well enough?..

It should.. right?

Its ok that you posted here, but in the future it is better to start your own thread. Its known as hijacking a thread and sometimes what you did will piss the thread starter becuase you steal the light away from him/her. But its ok your new to the forums so we don't expect you to know everything yet. Enjoy your time here.

I'm not sure on the PSU but i would have to say i don't see a problem. If you can return it you might want to go with more like shawn said. If you can't return it, you should be fine.

Oh it's fine, I really don't mind. The question he is asking is almost exactly the same as mine anyway.

I have one more question. Do you think that the Enermax Noisetaker 600w PSU could power a Geforce 7800GTX system? And is the AMD 64 3700+ better than the Pentium 4 3.0Ghz?

Nvida reccomends a 480 watt power supply for the 6800Ultra. Don't follow those power calculators, as they take average use into account. What they don't take into account is when you are pumping your system up at full speed, and using all the resources. I would at least go with an ANtec 450 watt power supply. It should be safe, just don't use alot of case fans.

The 7800GTX uses less power than the 6800Ultra, and yes, the 3700+ is better than the p4 3.0. Despite what it says, these are not peak wattages. The Nvida 6800Ultra has been proven to use 100 watts, while it says that the max it uses is 85.

Well the price difference between the 3700+ and the 3800+ is about $150. Is that worth it?

Is the -5v feed needed? Because I can hardly find any PSUs that thave that pin.

I want to power the "Abit AN8 Fatal1ty" board with a 64bit 3700+ and XFX 7800GTX.

I can choose from the following PSUs:

Coolermaster PSU Extreme 380w
Coolermaster PSU Extreme 430W
Coolermaster PSU Real 450W
Enermax Coolergiant 485W
Enermax Noisetaker 535W ATX V2.0
Enermax 550W EG651AX-VH PSU
