you need more ram first. that is the main cause is because XP is eating all your ram and your games have nothing to use.

i say at least double your RAM. either way that cpu is going to take pc100 or pc133 RAM. you can get an extra 128mb stick really cheap. just to be sure get pc133 it will cost you about the same second-hand and will work for sure.
