where more then one, i am still considering my choices. this rig is for multitasking, video and a little gaming. respective prices are what i am willing to spend in each category.

I have 1 GB of 2700 ram cas3, i may keep it if the total 2 GB @ no dual channeled 2700 runs faster then just the 1 GB @ 3200 with dual channel. any predictions?

they are all similar. cheap. al have a ~400 watt supply. it doesnt say but im guessing ill need this for the 64 bit mobo, as it seems they all need a special power connector.

already have a 15lcd and 15crt though, but i multi-task a lot



I will throw in my old: ram (as mentioned, maybe), creative pci sound card, media reader dash, floppy, optical drives, maybe slave my old 80 GB HD, my pci vid card for the tripple mon support.

Sounds like you would want a P4. Also, by the way, I woiuldn't buy all that refurbished stuff. Your bound to get something DOA, even though its Newegg. Since your price consious though, I can help you with some price saving tips.

Finally, if you want to try your luck with refurbished video cards, go ahead. Newegg is good for it, and if it comes DOA, they will replace it. But, you will have to pay for shipping.

The chaintech Nforce-4 Ultra Motherboard is a good buy, and is cheaper at 87 dollars. Also, your better off going with this Antec case. It includes a 350 watt power supply, and has a 20 to 24 adaptor already. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811129150
 
Btw, if your really on a budget, circuit city has kingston ram for 20 dollars after mir. 512 sticks pc3200.
 
Go for a Pentium 4 is your going to be doing multitasking. they have hyper-threading which helps ALOT for running 2 applications at once.
