Not Alloying me to a Secure Site

I am running Windows XP Home and I am having a problem going to a secure site. I checked and it is 128 Bit IE6 sp1 and the strangest thing is if I go into safe mode with network I am able to go to the secure sites. Is this a known problem or possible a virus. I even tried creating a new user with admin rights and same thing. I can go to all the regular websites. I even figured that I would just go to the Microsoft web site and down load the IE software, and of cores.. I get to the right site to download and it tries to connect me to a secure site for the download. Any help would be greatly appreciated

my suggestion is use firefox!!!
gseriously just try it at least, even if you dont like the browser then you can at least have some more info on the nature of the problem. use the link in my sig

another alternative is linux. IE is isnt hardwired into linux

Just add it to your trusted sites in Internet Options.

edit: i would still try firefox though, its more secure and tabbed browsing.....mmmmmm delicious

Thanks guys, I will have to try FireFox. I did tried putting the website into trusted sites but that didn't do it either.

Firefox is insanely good. Faster, slicker, cleaner, and prettier by IE by a longshot

definitely. case in point. right now im typing this post from a computer belonging to my grand parents. i haven't got around to putting firefox on it yet and it is killing me. the only fault i can think of with firefox is i don't know how to change between tabs with the keyboard. does anyone know?
