This monitor a good bargain?

I love the way the monitor looks. A majority of the flat panels out these days are always turning my head. For what you get, don't you think the price is kind of steep?

Brightness is only 250, and Contrast ratio is only 500:1
That's about average, so it's not bad. But if you look at a Samsung monitor you'll notice it's brighter (Brightness is 300) and the contrast ratio is 700:1, quite a bit higher. All of this means better image quality for not too much more money. Here's that Samsung at Newegg and Circuit City (rebates make it cheap, only guarenteed to be valid thru today though).

Brightness and contrast ratio do not matter as much as you think it would, as there is no industry standard. Best way to know what kind of LCD your getting if you really care is to go to the stores and try it out.

See, that monitor is nice. I like the rebate deals on it and such. Jorsoft, excellent choice. Samsung always has a great product.

Make sure you get one with a DVI connection rather than analog. It will produce a clearer image. The 930b has a DVi, but the 915n doesn't. Go to "search" in this forum for recent LCD discussions. I just bought a Viewsonic VP191b myself.

My brother bought this monitor and it looks the same as expensive ones. It has both DVI and VGA inputs. No Problems at all. I would reccomend it.
