pc's keep restarting

i've got p4 mother board from a friend, built it up and it was working fine for 3days. I used anti virus to scan the system then in the middle of its operation, it's turn itself off and restarted.

It's got worst now because it wont' even boot up windows. the pc was very hot so i suspect it's over heated so i changed another better power supply and leave overnight but it's still do the same thing ......

please help!!!!!!!1

What was very hot? Did you check the cpu fan? Check to make sure the memory is properly seated?

Check to see if there are any updates for your mb. I had that problem because the firmware that came on my mb did not meet the specifications explained when i bought it. The ram i had made it restart because it could not handle it. now everything works fine.
