P4 Temps

But just FYI the stock HSF is the best solution for LGA775 prescotts. but since you have a 478, go with a high RPM, high CFM HSF.
That's not true at all. I have a prescott, and I lowered my load temp's by about 15c by getting the Tower112. It is heavy, but the best air cooling you can get. I load at 47C at 3.73Ghz.....

Well my stock works great for me. I get 29c idle. 40c Full load.
When i OC it from 2.8 to 3.5
i get 35c idle and 51c full load.

Anyways what compound did you use with that HSF?

I used AS5.....

Your temps are great, but also abnormal for a prescott. I actually seemed to have better than normal, with it staying under 60c full load at stock, but a lot I have seen have been 65-70C easy with the stock cooler.

Either way, it is going to be tough to beat a HUGE all copper HS like the Tower 112 :D

Well to tell you the truth I have 2x 80mm, 5,000 RPM fans, both blowing in adjacent to the CPU. :D

But before that, my temps were still good with the stock fan before I installed the "windtunnel"

My current cooling solution
Stock Intel POS IMHO 775 HSF
Open Case
15in Dollar General Floor Fan on "High"
My 3.6 Pressy is idling @ 37C right now
