For the past 3 weeks I've been ducking and diving around this and many other web sites in a vain attempt to put together a system.

As ever with these things its a balance of price against performance.

PLEASE could you cast your critical eyes over my proposal and give me your e-pinion. - I'm looking for the "best bang for buck" as you would say - particular - Graphics card! - I still have to dig for the best prices.

Thankyou

Cameron

I don't know any UK rates, so I wouldn't be the one to know if your being ripped off.

Check out the wildcatz realizm graphics card, I have heard excellent things about it. But you don't have 2000$ to blow on it I bet.

that PSU sucks. if it comes with a case not made by antec or thermaltake, it sucks. Get a 500 watt PSU to be safe, i dont know how much power that sort of vid card would draw

Chears

- I have change the spec to include a "Antec Black Tx640b Mini Tower 400w Atx" Case @ £69.99

ATI recommend a system with a 300watt or greater power supply

Still not sure whether the graphics card is the correct choice though?

Look at the benchmarks. Look at your pentium compared to a similarly priced Athlon 64, and see which one is better.

By the way the 3.2 540 looks like an awesome buy, at 200 dollars US. Offers similar performance, and shouldn't be hard to oc to 3.4 with an ASUS. Use that extra money to get some much needed RAM.

By the way, I think Intel's 925 chipset allows you to have raid 0 using partitions, so you don't need to get 2 hard drives, You can get one big hard drive, and use it as raid 0.
