Have you checked your computer for virus or spyware infection? I suggest you boot up in safe mode and check for spyware and virus infection. After that you should do a disk cleanup and disk defrag.
Have you installed any new devices. Like geekster said a bad CDrw will cause a slow boot as well. I had a problem where a bad/old printer driver was causing Windows XP to boot very slow.
