unstable system!! help! pc keeps hanging

ok my pc is hanging during games it will load the game fine but then i hear a noise, sounds like its coming from the hd it clicks and my system hangs. i reboot my pc and it bots up fine, any clue guys?
oh and my hard drive is brand new i just bought this one.

well hopefully it wasnt my hd. still bad tho its my video card thats hanging my system. it hangs my system when i play games this 9500 pro doesnt like my system i guess. but i sold it and im getting a 6600gt or 6800.

you got a maxtor hard drive? IMO, they arent nearly as good as western digital or seagate HDs.

yea well its all i could afford at the time i got it because my old one just broke and i had to get something fast and cheap, but its not my hd thats messed up anyway. but yes i do aggree with you i would rather prefer a westerndigital over this maxtor anyday. i have had a bunch of them
