I am getting a new computer soon and i was wondering how many watts my PSU should have.

Parts in my computer:

-DFI Lanparty UT nF4 Ultra-D
-AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Duel Core 512 Per Core
-4 pieces of OCZ Gold Ram (512MB Each)
-2 SATA Western Digital 74GB/10K RPM HHDs
-RAID 0
-1 Nec CD/DVD rom drive
-eVGA Geforce 7800GTX

any suggestions? i have a 520W one in mind right now is that too much or not enough?

I would say a minimum of 500 watts, but the more the better. I would be more concerned about the 12v rail current to be honest though, and I wouldn't suggest anything less than 30amps on the 12v rail(s) total.

The manufacturer itself is an important factor as well, especially with that kind of money you're putting into your system. The OCZ Powerstream 600w will work well for you, but I would also consider PC power and cooling, Antec, Thermaltake, or Enermax as good choices.

The power will not be bad on that thing

The X2's are slighly more power needed than the Athlon 64's, and the video card is more energy efficent than a 6800GT

The Modstream is a very nice PSU.. I just got the 450 W version. The frikkin cables are annoying tho.. Somewhat difficult to bend .
