I do not own a disk, the reason I ask is because an upgrade disk would be cheaper than a full install disk, wouldn't it?

plus, I have seen media center edition and it seems the same as windows xp just with a media center program installed with it...

It interfaces with certain media hardware in ways that xp pro/home can't do, other than that I think it's pretty much the same. I've heard it buggy, though, so maybe waiting for a service pack would be advisable.
