Cleaning LCD screen?

My LCD has a few stains on it. I am apprehensive about how to clean it. I looked in my A+ certification text, it said to use an "appropriate" cleaner. Not very specific huh? Im sure some of you peeps had to clean your LCDs in the past so could you please gimme some advice abput what to use and what definetly NOT to use?

alcohol based solutions are def a no-no. Never pour liquid directly on the LCD. IBM reccomends a light soap solution. and of course a non-abrasive and lint free cloth. The screen is porous and can soak up liquid. also alchol can blur the screen, actually melt it to a small degree.

Just use water and alot of grease...... Elbow grease

Or you if you dont feel like guessing or ruining your monitor that is very expensive you can spend a few bucks and get special cleaning wipes that are sold specifically for cleaning lcd screens, these are sold most everywhere.
