CD-ROM cock up.

No idea how this happened, but upon inspection the machine doesn't recognise my CD-ROM anymore, device manager says 'Windows could not load device driver', upon looking for the driver on the tinkernet all I've found is a firmware update, which doesn't do much because it can't recognise the drive.

Samsung CD-RW SW-252S is the product.

Any help would be great.

try removing the drive, booting without the drive, shutting down and reattaching the drive then booting again. when i say remove i just mean unplug the ide cable
