Im working on building my first PC and my dad told me that I would need a motherboard that has a "fast frontside bus" Can someone please tell me how to identify a fast frontside bus?

If you're talking about a motherboard you currently own:
FS bus is sometimes displayed at startup but you should be able to view that information in bios.

If you're talking about a future motherboard you may buy:
Newegg is pretty good about displaying technical info. If you can't find it however, get the model # and check the manufacturers website.

Well on a modern AMD system it's "2000", 2000 is the HyperTransport, which does the same peformance thing's as Intel's FSB

Intel board's are usually 800 FSB (200*4) with some being 1066 speed
