I am planning on getting a new video card. Below are some I am looking at. I know the 6600 will be better than the 6200 but it is also $60. For around $100 the 9800, 9600 and 6200 are my best options. What do you all think about the video cards listed? If I am trying to save money how do the $100 cards compare to the 6600, or is it well worth the extra $50-$60 for the 6600.

RADEON 9600 XT 256MB
RADEON 9800 128MB
GeForce 6200 AGP 256MB (NON-Turbo Cache)
GeForce 6600 AGP 256MB

I'm going to go ahead and get a XP 3000 400 CPU so I will have to wait a month or two for the video card.

You'll really onlly be able to play current games with the 6600 GT. The other cards may begin to cry when you load the Doom 3 menu.

Yep, I wish I could buy the top of the line stuff but I might have to settle for a 6600. By the time I get it though I can probably get the 6800 for the same price.

I hate to say it but I think by the next gen of consoles it will be much cheaper to buy a PS3 or XB2 than to upgrade you PC to current standars. I like PC games much more than console but the games are becoming more and more alike between PC and console.

50 dollars more and no, the performance is not double all around. It may be in extreme cases, but then the frame rates wouldn't justify those cases.

Edit: What I mean is that it looks like he won't be playing the latest games over 800x600 with no AA so it won't matter that much. Not everyone needs to play at 1280:1024

Edit again: Yes i know there is a 1024:770

Edit again, If your planning on getting the 9600XT 256 mb version, then get the 6600Gt cause its like 5 dollars more.
