TFT recommendation?

My 17" CRT is on its last legs... it whistles, it turns itself off then back on, it flickers... so I am gonna buy a new monitor, something bigger and I was looking at TFTs as the extra space would be nice.... but are any tfts good for gaming and dvd playback? because I do a lot of that on my pc...

any recommendations would be great!

they are good for gameplay and dvd's but make sure you get one with good response time ... something like 16ms or under. Ive just ordered an Acer 17" TFT and it has 12ms response time and it has lots of reviews and no body seems to be getting any ghosting.

^^ Yeah that one's nice, good price tag too. Bigger screen size is always better though, provided you don't lose any image quality in the process. My 19" AG Neovo F-419 serves me well. In short, I wuv my monitor

i would want at least 12ms and under...10 or 8 would be preferrable.

If you want a good 17" TFT then i STRONGLY recommend the LG L1715S. Tis very good...

Acer makes a 17''LCD 8ms response 550:1 Ratio as well. Honestly for gaming, don't go over 8ms.

Edit: how is the $$$ Viewsonic on games?

Ive just got my Acer monitor and on the box it says 8ms even though it was advitised as 12ms. So its an even better buy

I really want a minimum of 19"... i like the look of that viewsonic one with 4ms
