Error when installing games

I get this error when I try to install half life

C\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT.The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS applications. Choose 'close' to terminate.

Try using the search option of these forums. I searched Autoexec.nt and came up with 3 of the 6 time's I've posted the fix to this problem.
