My first LCD!

here is what i have
This is My first LCD monitor, so:

the only question i have is when i boot the computer i get Intel logo and then "Searching For signal" and black screen,

Then i get the "Windows XP loading" Logo then the same msg as before "Searching for signal" and black screen then The XP welcome screen, and smooth sailing after that....

It is not a problem actually, and the black screen only comes out for 5sec or so....

Since this is my first LCD "DVI connection", i was wondering if it is normal for LCD's to do that.

None of my samsung LCDs do that however I know some LCDs do that when there is no signal after so long. The acer LCDs might just be programed to do that as soon as they stop recieving a signal and during bootup there are a few times when they won't be recieving a signal.

so it is not a malfunction, just a programer's preference.

It's searching for the connection. Nothing wrong with that.
