Is this board good?

I'm lookin to upgrade my little brothers computer but really dont feel like paying a whole lot for parts he plays some high graphics games, and has a 9600 pro.... he recently purchased a 3.2ghz processor, but the multiplier is locked so he needs a mobo upgrade.... i was just wondering if this would be a good buy for him.... and if not can someone tell me where to get one cheap.. thx for all ur help guys....

you can't unlock the multiplier off of a Pentium 4. SO what's the use.... And that mobo sucks.

err... its a dell... and dell locks the multiplier....

Intel locks the multiplier, not dell

And for a dell PC, if you switch out the mobo, you also need a new power supply and case

Yep. It is Dell's evil way to enforce their brand loyalty.

So, if you go with a case/PSU replacement, go with a reputable PSU company (ThermalTake, Antec).

It is possible to unlock the multiplier on some boards...

Intel 925X/925XE chipsets have the ability with some bios upgrades. This is LGA775 of course... and only the 5xx series.

In anycase, everyones right: you have to upgrade half the PC to upgrade at all.

Trotters suggestions look good, if your looking for the extreme budget way out.
