Yes, it is worth the extra money, because if you want to go SLI in the future, you just saved your self a good 100-200 dollars on a replacement mobo.
 
Definately go with the nf4 mobo with the SLI, you might be selling yourself short though on the cpu. If I were you I wouldnt get anything less than 3500
 
I researched sli myself and with the help of others i also decided it is perhaps the better choice for future flexibility. Yes i agree, your cpu needs some tweaking there. If you can afford a little more, you may want to look at some comparisons for cores for amd's as well and may want to upgrade it a bit.
 
3500 Venice
or
3700 San Diego
both are much better cpu's i know the 3700 cost 330 but i have no idea about the 3500
