I am currently reinstalling windows xp pro on my laptop and I have question about what I should do with the partitions. here is what it looks like right now

57232 MB Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus on atapi [MBR]

-: Partition 1 [FAT] 47 MB <39 MB free>
C: Partition [NTFS] 57169 MB <42332 MB free>

Unpartitioned space 16MB

Here is what I would like to do. I want to create a small partition for Windows XP Pro to go on (but i don't know how small it should be) and then another partition just for all my games and folders and such. How do I do that?

What I do on my computers is create a 3-4GB partition for the OS and then leave the rest for the programs/files on my pc.

3-4 gigs leaves enough room for device drivers and windows updates while not taking up too much room from the rest of the drive.

What you'll need to do is delete the c partition you already have, then add one partition (I'd label it c) with 4GB and then add a second partition with the remaining space.

use the xp cd to partiton. I would partition 15-20 gigs for the OS, the rest for my documents
