HP PC will not boot

when we say (at work) this system won't POST, we basically means the system is getting power (which means the PSU looks fine), the light in the front panel works, but the system just won't run.

a few reasons what cause it, 1) CPU 2) memory 3)motherboard

at least that is what it means to me :)

Okay, I removed the only PCI card (a NIC card) and the PC still will not boot. I took the memory out of slot1 and tried slot2. Still nothing. I put the memory in my PC, my PC booted just fine.

Edit: any other suggestions?

thanks DJ-Chris, power on self test is the term I forgot

try your CPU on another machine, if that pass, then it is problem with your motherboard.
