re: customer reviews

I am buying a computer system for gaming... but here's the problem. I went to the 2 sites you recommended (Cyberpower and Ibuypower) but before ordering, I checked out their customer reviews... seems they were really bad.

Now my question is where can I find out which site has the fewest problems? I know that mostly only people who have had problems will bother to post, so I'm trying to take that into account.

Is Cyberpower really as awful as the reviews would indicate? I had configured a great system there but the reviews said that MANY of their systems were dead on arrival. At least one review said they had replaced the chosen parts with cheap subsitutes. (specifically the mother board and chip)

Short of googling every site out there that sells systems...what can I do to be sure I am dealing with someone I can trust?

im happy to say.. so far i have bought nothing from "TigerDirect" and "Outpost" , simply because thy are crooks disguised as comp e-Tailers.

i have ordered from and not had problems with so far... Newegg, ChiefValue, Xoxide, Monarchcomputer, coolerguys, eWiz, SVC, zipzoomfly.

TigerDirect is godly compared to most stores, but most stores suck.

Monarch is rumored to be great for custom PC's, but I am CDN so I have never had the chance to order from their (And i build my own PC's anyways)

cyberpower sucks, ibuypower sucks; they both suck

monarch is great on the other hand, you can't go wrong with them

in addition, cyber/ibuy give you an option of crappy parts, while monarch has decent parts you can choose from

Well, we actually decided to buy form Monarch. We stayed close to our budget and got everthing we wanted. Even shipping to Hawaii was reasonable.

If you didnt, get a 3700+ Venice instead of a 3800+, and drop down to 2x 512 sticks of RAM
