Im goin to buy a Dual layer internal DVD writer within the next week but im not sure which one to go with. Im not bothered about oem or retail.

Ones i can easy get my hands are are

liteon
pioneer 109
aopen
NEC
LG
toshiba

I could get a plextor but i cant justify double price tag for it, when i know they are all almost exactly the same.

Which would you get, and why?

thanks

I have a Plextor 716SA. The reason they are so expensive is because they are the only ones that are SATA150 and have 8MB of cache.

That was the drive that i was aiming to get, but its £95 (GBP) which is vastly more expensive than the £30odd the rest of the non plextors are. Does the 8mb cache make any difference? Because i know the SATA interface wont wont matter at all.

I don't know much about how cache on hard drives/optical drives works other than that more is better :) It's also one of the only drives that has 6X dual layer burning.
