Am I the only one that would choose number 2?

No, you're not alone, I would also choose 2. Apokalipse already pointed out what you would do to get the best all around performance anyway. But if I was just given those choices then I would choose #2

I'm thinking I would too. You can have the fastest processor in the world, but if your RAM is bad, then you won't get to run things that fast at all. Seems like eventually you'll have a bottleneck which isn't good at all. I think I'd go with number 2 if those were my only choices after reading what everyone put.
