task manager locked

ok when i do ctrl alt delete it says task manager has been disabled by your administrartor. whats gives i am the admin.

Copy and paste this in the run box

REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

Download this: Task manager fix

or

Open Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) and navigate to:
HKCU \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies\ System

In the right-pane, double-click DisableTaskMgr and set it's data to 0

Using Group Policy Editor [ Windows XP Professional ]
Click Start, Run, type gpedit.msc and click OK.
Navigate to this path
User Configuration
=> Administrative Templates
==> System
===> Ctrl+Alt+Delete Options
====> Remove Task Manager

Double-click the Remove Task Manager option.
Set the policy to Not Configured.

You could also have a virus that has disabled your access rights. In that case you could use Process Explorer from www.sysinternals.com to disable the process that is doing it. Hope that helps.
