laptop not booting

allright today i decided to take my laptop to a friends house, because we had to do a group project and he doesnt have a computer, and when i turned it on, it loads windows xp and after that, a blue screen pops up really fast with some white letters, but i cant see what it says since it pops up really fast, i tried to pause the screen to read it but it didnt work, anyone have an idea on what the problem might be?

i cant XD! it happens so damn fast that i cant read it or stop it, anyways, i listened to it and the HD sounds really weird, and the bottom of the laptop is hotter than usual, the thing that sucks its that its really hard to open and ive never done anything to a laptop bfore (last time i tried o open one it ended up in 2 separate pieces >_>')

Sounds like the blue screen of death...perhaps a memory or hard drive problem? There isnt much we can do without the message though.
