I'm running a intel D865PERL with 3gig intel prescott 800fsb,
1.5 gb of ddr 400 runing sc. 6800gt not oc'd.

3dmark01 = 17834
3dmark03 = 11204
3dmark05 = 5484

I have no way of knowing what these mean: compared to what?

Video bench mark noobie = me!

thats pretty good scores really good actually. i get 3dmark01se=12000
3dmark03=3800
3dmark05=1600
so pretty much dude your system will run any game out there lol

Thanks...I may be not seeing it.....but does the 3dmark website do benchmark system comparisons. After I ran these tests, I looked and said...thatsa nice! ???? LOL :)

yeah they call it 'ORB' I believe....go to www.futuremark.com and it has a ton of peoples systems with scores in different benchmarks and whatnot.

5400 seems pretty high for a stock 6800GT honestly....I believe a guy in here with an FX-55 system and a 6800Ultra was scoring like 5600 or so and from what I've seen most 6800GT's are scoring 5000k most....the 11,200 in 3dmark03 seems pretty much on par, but I don't see why it'd score so high in 05

I'll recheck it tonight given that I've jst started runinng on a sata wd 2500jd. I'm interested in seeing what effect hd access times have on video benchmarks. I'll post the results again tonight after I rerun the bench marks.

i got 5,964 (3dmark05, and i know futuremark is biased towards ATI) with my rig (c sig), everything on stock speeds. I was pretty surprised, so i ran it again the score was roughly the same. i was using Cat 5.1s which prolly helped

Soup - HD's really don't have any effect on benchmarks or gaming performance besides loading times....and thats about it honestly.

DHw - yeah your score is about right, not only is it biased towards ATI...regardless of that, they put the X850 series out after the 6800Ultra so it's a given that'd it'd beat it in the benchmarks....

The highest score I've been able to attain is 5,777 and that was on my XP system because my 6800GT was running 430/1150

I found out recently the 6xxx series has issues with the Nf3 chipset with OC's so the highest OC this thing will smoothly run at is 415/1120 which yields around 5700......if it was running 430/1150 I might have had a chance of hittin 6k but I don't know if it's possible now

Radeon X850 XT is clocked at 520/1080, Ultra at 400/1100...id figure ud need at least 450/1200 (or so) to hit 6k...could be wrong though

Well it's like Intels vs AMD's.....the clocks really can't be compared together at all......although I'd say your guess is pretty accurate....if 430/1150 yielded 5,775 then I'm sure 450/1200 (That's a 6800Ultra EEs stock speeds BTW) then I'm sure it would hit 6k.........but I was testing that at stock venice speeds...

I was hoping to run 430/1150 at 2.8GHz with 275MHz running RAM, even though 3dmark05 is basically all GPU based I was hoping that system would be able to be enough to increase the score......buuut like I said, I don't think 6K will be possible for me, unless I can figure out a way to keep it from freezing which is all chipset based.

Re-ran 3dmark03 and 05:
Hmmmmmmmm: much lower this time????????
03-= 10890
05 = 4860
Prior 03 = 11700
05 = 5480 ????????? This negative change is the result of what? I'm confused.
