Hi All,

Hopefully someone can help me with an error I am receiving. I just received a new MB, and memory. Everything seems to boot fine until just after the Win 2k start-up window. Then I get an error:

STOP 0x0000007b (0xf241b84c, 0xc00000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

It says to see the troubleshooting guide but there is no TS guide in my manual.

The MB is an ASUS A7N8X-X

The harddrive seems to be installed o.k.

Sometimes I get an error that the Pri IDE able is missing??

Tried another cable with the same error message.

Also having trouble loading the bios. This may have something to do with the problem??

Thanks

Jim

it could be the BIOS is messed up. read in your manual how to reset the BIOS, this is usually done by shorting jumpers from j1+j2 to setting it to j2+j3 for 30 seconds and putting them back to j1+j2. the jumpers usually look like this

j1-j2-j3

if that does not work check to make sure you are using the right kind of hard drive and the right kind of cable. is your hard drive an IDE which is usually a grey 40 or 80 wire cable and very thin and flat. if you are using SerialATA possibley you have it configured it wrong.

it is also possible you have a bad hard disk (IDE or SATA) controller on the motherboard and you would need to exchange the motherboard for another one.
