Cdrom Issues

I was wondering if someone can help me. At first I just thought that my autorun wasn't working. But my dvd/cd burner drive refuses to even read regular cds. The reason I say regular is because it works perfectly with autorun and everything if I put in a burned cd. But a cd straight from a store will not even be noticed... Nothing runs and if I go to explore it. it shows nothing... just empty. Any ideas? I'm stumped...

I'm posting this here because I'm pretty sure that the hardware is working correctly... do you think I need a new driver? I tried to update them and it says the ones I have are good....

No replies.... Does no one recognize this problem?.... I'm really in a bind here I have to install the programs on these disks tonight for my presentation tomorrow... To clarify...

Burned disks.. work perfectly
Non-burned (store bought) disks... drive doesn't even seem to see them....

Any ideas???... please?
