Hello all.....before I forget, here are my specs:

Athlon XP-A 2600+ at 1.9 GHz
Gigabyte GA-7VT600 w/ VIA VT8377 Apollo KT600 Chipset
1 Gig of PC3200 SDRAM
40 Gig Seagate
ATI Radeon 9600 128 mb
Windows XP SP1
Lite-On DVD-RW (all formats)
350 W power supply

I recently bought GTA: San Andreas and it's pretty much unplayable even at low res, low graphics settings. What I want to know is, if I bought a new video card (any model that can handle the game's graphics) will my system even be able to fully support it? On a side note, what size should my page file be with 1 Gig of RAM?

Thanks in advance for your help,

- Matt

Games require a good video card to play, and are not so dependant on CPU's.

So if you did get a new card, than you would be able to play it at better quality, with the playable frame rates.

How much are you willing to spend (you may also need a new PSU if that one is generic.

The page file is automaticle set at, 2.5 times the amount you have, which is unnecesary. 1gb would be more than enough, if you want to change it.

Cool, that's good news. I'd be willing to spend up to $200 I guess. I'm not a huge gamer, but I love the GTA series.

Is PSU Power Source Unit? I recently upgraded that and as far as I can remember it is not generic.

I have my page file set at a static 200 Mb.....should I increase or change it to dynamic?

Thanks,

- Matt
