Fibre Channel hard drive conversion to IDE

I have acquired some Fiber Channel components and the only ones I am potentially interested in keeping are the Seagate Cheeta (SP) 10000 rpm fibre channel hard drives. Are there rear drive add on boards that can convert these drives from FC to IDE? I am not interested in acquiring a whole FC Array to use these drives. For one thing they are useful only if i was interested in a mass storage server array for which I have no need or interest. Anyone know?:amazed:

And even so, that hard drive should be WAY faster then IDE can manage, shouldn't it? Your MB will burst into flames!

LOL!! Seagate makes 10k rpm hd's for ide sata now right? If they were convertable you'd think they'd be okay.....That's why I'm asking!!!

You could possibly get an adapter as fiber is a type of SCSI

And their's SCSI to paralell adapters.

Also remeber that with a paralell adapter your getting 1.5 to 2 meg bandwidth

Sounds unlikely...I was hoping that, the given the vast number of these drives just floating around outside of arrays, that soneone would have contrived a conversion add on board for the rear of these drives, SCSI or IDE. Looks like thye'll wind up on Ebay!
