like said before, unless you need the AIW features, get the 6800 GT.

Yeah, you will be dissapointed if you get the X800XL, because it lacks Shader Model 3, which is required to take advantage of all the new advanced DX9 features. Without it, you will have to play newer games in DX8.1 mode, which doesn't look bad, its just not as good. Get the 6800 GT, you won't regret it.

P.S. I have an X800 Pro...don't make the same mistake I did.
have you considered soft-modding your card to get 16 pipes?
you don't have to turn it into an XT to get the 16 pipes, however it really does make a difference

Different cores. Like comparing a 2 GHz AMD to a 3.0 GHZ intel.
Didn't think of it that way but it makes sense.

Also if anyone could help me with installing my video card. Right now I have a 9800 pro with all the drivers and the catalyst stuff.
Could someone please explain to me what I should do and in what order for uninstalling/installing the hardware and the software, when I am ready to take the 9800 out and put the 6800 in. Thanks

You should back up all your files first

Than take your pro out

Than put in the 6800GT

Than put in your windows CD and reformat

Switching graphics card's with the same OS usually causes problems and that's why we reinstall.
