start up help

hey guys i just put my computer together the other day and noticed one problem and that is when i turn on my computer/restart my computer. i will see the windows xp loading screen and sometimes after that it just goes to a black screen and i have to restart and sometime it even does it when i try to restart????? i donno whats wrong but its bugging me because i have turn it on like 10 times to get it running good any reasons why this would be happening?.

when it goes to a black screen, does the processor stop making a noise???

the processor doesn't make noise unless its burning...it sounds like a RAM issue. Try taking out the ram and putting it back in. If you have to take one out and try again.

Hmm.. seems like RAM would keep it from booting up to XP... usually does that.
Are your temps good? Sounds like it may be an overheating issue.

everything is good but it still does it,
then when i restart ive gotta click on start window at the last known time it was running good? or something?

Did you move an HD from on old pc to this one with the OS already installed?

nope everything was brand new

well that sucks....memory probably although maybe u got cheated on the hdd..... also i have had similar problems with incompatable processors or processors clocked wrong
