DVD Playback

I was just wondering the minimum system requirements for smooth DVD playback and if the following would cut it:
P3 700MHz on 810E mo/bo
256MB RAM
40GB HDD
nVidia TNT2 m64 32mB PCI

im wondering if it is worth buyin a dvd combo drive to install in my system (hav a cd-rw at moment) and I won't do it unless my system can run a movie smoothly with no jerks.. does anyone play dvds smoothly with specs less than this?? if not what would you suggest to upgrade (i no the gfx card would be the first)

That would probably be fine. I have a similar system that will play DVDs.

just replying to this because when i first tried playing dvds on the computer specified above the video was choppy and wasn't really watchable.. i had proper drivers for the video card (nvidia) but they must have been a bit old or something because i updated to the latest (almost last) version of detonator drivers v44.03 (yes i no they are old) because the forceware drivers didnt work (probly dont support pci) and the playback is fantastic now! wel just lettin you know and thanx m3trj.
