do you want WiFi or celular, b/c without being in a hotspot you'll be limited to something that can take a celular pcmcia netwroking card or pda/cell phone. other than that i would check out a very nice PDA like an HP Pocket PC or a new Palm if you prefer. most new ones have WiFi support in 802.11b and 802.11g
