Help with Start Menu Picture Bitmap Transperency

Top pic just normal and looking pretty good if i may say so myself

Middle when pointer is on, notice the button has started to glow
and mucked up the back ground on the original pic making it look ugly

Bottom pic just looking plain ugly.

I have never ever heard of this before, but is there any way to make
sections of bitmap files see through of just make that image see through for the changing back ground

hey i reckon you should use photoshop or some other picture editor. you can select around the picture and make it transparent. good luck.

yer i did do that, just that the picture has to be BMP when you put it pack in the explore.exe so it automatically makes it white were it was see through
