I have a nvidia geforce 4 mx440 sixty-four mb agp x4 and i can play hl2 on high settings with about 40fps and on low 80fps, which is ok for that card. I once downloaded nfsu:2 and put it on high settings and no lag it was perfect.

You would have to have a really good processor to get that. Even then I don't see how you could get 40 fps on high settings on hl2 on that card. You should be getting like 10 fps average. Someone back me up on this.

My GeForce4MX could only play UT2004 on Medium, couldn't handle Far Cry. I have to say the GeForce 4 MX isn't a gaming card at all, and is only a step above onboard graphics. Its only DX7 for crying out loud!

Yep. Luckily the GeForce Ti series are not that bad. They got faster ram and core, more memory bandwidth, more pipelines and they're dx8 cards. Yippee.

Little update:

I just finished HL2 and it run just fine. Got usually 30+ fps with 1024x768, 2xQuincunx AA and textures set to high. I enjoyed the game and the graphics.

Next target: Far Cry.
