Ok if i get this motherboard, how will i know that it will fit into a new case?

"iv had the great experience of tryingt to upgrade a new mobo to replace the dell. first it will never fit in the dell case, because dell made up their own form factor called "dell doenst need to follow standards" or somtin like that. its not atx, and is in a tray that an atx mobo won't fit on. if your getting a new case then that would be much easier."

Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000MK Micro ATX (Socket 478) Motherboard (MB-029-GI), the motherboard is Micro ATX.... so will it fit?

No!

Just like he said, Dell mobos use a formfactor that nowhere near resembles any type of ATX board. You will end up gutting the case.

Do yourself a favor; get a new case and PSU from Newegg for $30-40. It's worth it.

they are telling you the right advice. let just say you find one mobo which do fit (which you won't). your wires (ide sw, hard drive, speaker reset, etc. ) won't plug in to it right, because it's a dell

so buy another case
