AMD 64 3200+ 2 or 1 ghz?!

Ok I noticed this problem of odd speeds on my new Compaq r4025us laptop. In the bios it says 2000 Mhz = 2ghz, but on PC Pitstop it says 1 Ghz and on my system tab in the control panel it says 486 Mhz... I am damn sure it's suppose to be 2ghz.... What is going on? Does Cool and Quite have anything to do with it? Wat do I do to get it on Optimal Performance or is it already?

Cool and quiet... its cranking down your CPU frequency when your not using it.

Don't worry about it.... it will go to 2.0 GHz when you need it. Also, if you need to, you can go into your BIOS and disable the cool function.

If you disable cool function it will use the battery faster. I assume.

Ok I was pretty sure it was the cool and quiet, I just didn't quite know when it worked and stuff.
