Hi.

I have a problem with my Browser. (Using IE v6). I recently deleted all cookies and Temp Internet Files stuff cos a friend of mine decided he would sit up all night looking at porn.:)rolleyes: )

Anyways, since ive done this, whenever i click on a link (Ive tried different links just incase it was a specific link that wasnt working) the screen freezes and i have to shutdown IE and then restart it again.

How could i prevent this? A friend suggested to switch over to Mozilla ... but i only really want to use that as a last resort.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,
John.:)

sounds like some spy/mal ware. Download and install spybot.)put it into google and follow instructions) this will show if you've got anything that shouldn't be there. Also you may have viruses--scan your pc thoroughly with Norton or something similar.
Have you lost the tabs for Advanced and SECURITY IN YOUR INTERNET OPTIONS?

btw there is a file called index.dat which records cookies and sites you've vistied and is not deleted when you empty your temp internet files--in fact you can't delete it's contents without going into dos so all that porn has traces--just in case u weren't paranoid enuff ;-)

also nother tip--when u stick yr e-mail address on forums they get farmed by mailbots which send u annoying sh*t about viagra so put smthing like johnnash(takethisbitoutinbrackets)_357@hotmail.com so that the bots send it somewhere invalid

I already have scanned with Ad aware and Spybot S+D - thats the first thing i did before deleting the Temp files. And i have Norton AV 2003 running too - and also did a scan and that found nothing. Oh yeah - bout the email thing, that account is pretty much for junkmail anyways - i use it just to sign up at forums so it doesnt bother me. :)

Thanks for your help - i'll check the Index.dat file.

John.
