I'm saving up to get a complete overhaul of my PC and I've settled on the AMD 64 3500+. Trouble is, there are about four cores I see and I have no idea what the difference between them is. I see Winchester, Clawhammer, Venice, and Newcastle. Does anyone know what real world performance, quirks, or tendencies of these cores are like?

clawhammer has a 1mb cache, and the newcastle is clocked 200mhz higher, however, they run on 130nm cores

the winchester runs on a 90nm core, making it run cooler than the CH and the NC

the venice has a 90nm core along with SSE3 instructions, making it run more efficient than the other processors

in conclusion

the venice is the best choice//best

exactly what diablo II said, and there is another one if im not mistaken 'San Diego' I bielieve it is, and i heard they are just as good as venice

So if I was getting a new CPU (which I'm not) I'd want to get a San Diego instead of a Venice?
