On my other computer I want to keep a partition private for me to use and no one else. Also the hard drive with the windows files.Do I have to get a program or can I do this in windows.

well, if you are running XP pro, then you can encrypt the whole drive under your admin account. That will stop other non admins from getting to the information. if they are admins too, then you would want to export the root certificate to stop them from gaining access to the files with the admin credentials they have.

You can use axcrypt, it's free and works with XP Home. You can't encrypt an entire partition with it but you can encrypt files up to 4 gigs in size.
