ok, I am a little tight on money right now, so i have decided to build a comp that has all the good parts for high-end gaming, like joint ops, battlefield 2 any massive multiplayer games. I want a 6800 gt with 256 mb, but i think i will wait and get all the other necessities, but a cheap video card at first, until the new generation nvidia comes out. can someone please help me pick out my build? my budget is between 4-700 without the 6800

AMD64 Venice 3000+
DFI lanparty ultra-d
1 gig of twinmos ram
80 gig SATA HDD
OCZ Modstream 520W
Case
NEC 3510A dvd-rw

should be able to fit your budget as long as you don't choose an expensive case (probably anthing around 70 or under...dunno the exact price, i just did a quick guesstimate)

Lets see...

-AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice
-DFI Lanparty nForce 4 Ultra-D
-1 gig of Corsair Value Select or Twinmos
-OCZ Modstream 520 watts (for future vid cards)
-CDRW/DVDRW drive (Lite On and NEC are good brands)
-Any case you like
-Floppy drive

Should total up to a little under $700. Use www.newegg.com

Cept that twinmos > kingston by far

However I did overclock some kingston value ram pretty high :)

stoppppppppppp making fun of me :D

kingston value ram corupted my hard drives

oh btw, don't get corsair value ram b/c they are a pain in the ass to run with the DFI board
