fan problems

i have a dell laptop. The fan does not turn on when i'm in windows and it creates it to freeze and lock up. I have replaced the fan and verified that it is working because i can turn it on manually using dell's troubleshooting program. Does can anyone help? thanks in advance

I can barely understand you. So you thought it was your fan, but after you replaced it. While being 100% positive its working propuerly, the problem still happens?

oh sorry, I replaced the fan to verify that it was not faulty. So the fan works. But windows does not turn it on. also I have tried to flash the bios but it won't let me cause it is the latest version.

Get another fan that runs dirrectly off the power supply instead of the motherboard, or a 3 pin to 4 pin adapter to do this

Why did you even buy a Dell in the first place? Anyways, try using SpeedFan.
